The annual Pride of Longbridge event, a highly anticipated celebration of the automotive heritage linked with the Longbridge plant, was regrettably cancelled in 2024 due to adverse weather conditions. The persistent rain left the main field waterlogged and unsuitable for hosting the gathering of car enthusiasts. This setback, however, did not dampen the spirit of the community. Numerous venues across the region swiftly came forward to offer their spaces for hosting tributes to the Pride of Longbridge. The Commonwealth Car Club, selected the Transport Museum in Wythall as an alternative venue. The Wythall Transport Museum hosted a range of activities and exhibits that paid homage to the rich history of vehicle production at Longbridge. Enthusiasts had the opportunity to engage in discussions and tours, keeping the spirit of the event alive albeit in a new setting. This adaptation underscored the resilience and camaraderie among the automotive community, ensuring that the legacy of Longbridge was celebrated despite the challenges posed by the weather.
